Programme Manager

BSG's Programme Management division has opportunities for candidates with proven delivery capability to apply these skills across a number of linked projects and business activities so as to enable strategic change within organisations. Successful candidates will be expected to add value in all phases of a Programme, from Definition through to Closure, and could be required to play a major role in one or all of the following areas of a Programme: Governance, Planning, Issue & Risk Management, Quality Management, Benefits Management, Change Management and Stakeholder Management. Project Teams and Programme Office resources will report into the Programme Manager who will need to play a key leadership role in aligning and managing these areas.
   
Qualifications: Appropriate tertiary qualification
   
Experience: 
  • 3– 4 years project or programme management experience
  • 6– 10 years consulting or project-related IT experience
  • IT related Degree
  • IT related industry experience preferred
Knowledge:   
  • Strategic planning and goal setting e.g. Balanced Scorecard approach
  • Benefits measurement e.g. earned value analysis, net present value
  • Project and programme management, including Planning and Organisation, Quality management, Risk,  Issue management and Benefits management
  • Management of programme-level budgets, contracts, finances and skilled resources

  • Lead organisational transformation
  • Manage resources across projects, including project management teams
  • Manage interdependencies and resolve conflicts among projects within a programme
  • Measure and manage the realisation of business benefits
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to the programme
  • Realign projects within a programme based on changing business requirements and corporate objectives, including the identification of projects to be stopped
  • Manage programme quality, risks and issues
  • Manage programme finance and contractual obligations
  • Market the programme to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage third-party contributions to a programme e.g. contractors
  • Coach project managers
  • Manage agreed internal BSG functions
